Change can often lead to uncertainty and there is no bigger change for a business than an acquisition! Our Operations Director, Emma, has had the privilege of guiding our team through this transition following the recent acquisition of Trinity by Strata, ensuring it was not just smooth, but a journey of growth and opportunity for all of us - and one that benefits our clients as well.
We caught up with Emma, to see how the team are doing three months in from the acquisition and what she’s learnt from the process.
From when we made the first announcement to the team that this acquisition was happening, my priority was to keep communication channels open and transparent. Acquisitions naturally bring uncertainty, and it was essential for the team to feel heard and supported throughout the process.
We held regular meetings, providing updates and creating opportunities for the team to voice any concerns or ask questions. This created a sense of trust from within the team, allowing us to move forward with clarity and confidence.
At the heart of this acquisition is growth - growth for our business, our clients, and most importantly, our team. I was keen to remind everyone that while we may be transitioning into a larger organisation, the bond we’ve built as a team remains strong.
The acquisition by Strata was not about losing our identity as Trinity, but about enhancing it. We are carrying our culture, values, and strengths into this exciting new chapter, taking everything that makes us unique into the future.
For our clients, this acquisition opens up a wealth of new possibilities. As part of the larger Strata group, we now have access to greater resources and expertise across a range of divisions, including creative services, delegate management, event technology and brand activation. This means we can offer even more tailored, innovative solutions to meet our clients’ evolving needs.
Our clients will benefit from the best of both worlds—the personalised, high-touch service they’ve come to expect from Trinity, combined with the expanded capabilities and reach of a larger organisation. Whether it's tapping into specialised teams or gaining access to new markets, our clients stand to gain from the synergies created by this partnership.
Being part of Strata allows us to not only broaden our own service offerings but also support other divisions within the group: including On Production Co, their technical production company based in the East Midlands, whom we have provided venue sourcing services for. The integration of our expertise with the wider network means we can collaborate more effectively, delivering comprehensive solutions that meet the varied needs of all Strata’s clients.
From cross-functional projects to sharing best practices, we now have the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from a more dynamic and diversified business ecosystem. This enhances our ability to serve both existing clients and new ones across different industries.
Only recently, I was privileged to attend an organised trip with InVoyage Mykonos with a fellow colleague from Strata to explore how we can work together to deliver exciting new incentive and event opportunities to clients With our knowledge of venues and destinations, and Strata’s knowledge on delivering high quality incentive programmes, we can certainly bring our strengths together to create some exceptional experiences for our clients.
Joining a larger organisation like Strata has broadened our horizons in ways we hadn’t imagined. We now have access to a wider network of contacts and clients, and the range of projects we can take on has diversified. This means not only exciting growth for the business, but incredible opportunities for each team member.
The acquisition has opened doors for professional development and allowed our team to take on new challenges that will help them grow in their careers.
The acquisition process wasn’t without its challenges. There were moments of uncertainty, and it required us to step outside our comfort zones. But it has been a journey of learning and development for everyone involved. We’ve grown stronger as a team, developed new skills, and learned to embrace change with resilience. These experiences have equipped us to face the future with confidence, knowing that we are now part of something bigger.
I’m excited for the future of Trinity and how I can already see the team going from strength to strength and embracing these amazing new opportunities.
