Since we first shared our love for Malta in our earlier blog on discovering Malta for meetings and events, we’ve made it a priority to keep our industry knowledge fresh and up to date. Recently, our very own Louise had the pleasure of attending a fantastic two-day FAM trip to Malta, and we’re excited to share the latest insights from this vibrant Mediterranean destination.
Malta is a jewel of history, culture, and natural beauty, and experiencing it first-hand with a professional lens gave Louise invaluable insights that will benefit our clients planning corporate events, meetings, and incentive trips.
Louise arrived in Malta and immediately immersed herself in the local charm. The first stop was Ta’ Betta Wine Estates, a family-run winery that perfectly blends bespoke event potential with personal touches. Louise enjoyed a delightful wine tasting and grazing experience while touring the estate, discovering its many spaces ideal for private dinners or exclusive hire. The estate’s extended “staff” of donkeys, ducks, chickens, and Alfie the dog added a truly unique character to the setting - perfect for clients looking for an intimate, authentic Maltese experience.
Later, Louise checked in at Hilton St. Juliens, overlooking the marina, before touring the hotel’s impressive event spaces. From private access and multiple breakout areas to the option of hiring the beach club or showcasing vehicles, Hilton St. Juliens offers flexibility for almost any type of corporate event. Dinner at the hotel’s Blue Elephant Thai Restaurant was a feast to remember, setting the tone for an exciting and engaging FAM trip.
After a sunrise breakfast at Hilton, Louise and the group joined the Coast is Clear Foundation for a sea cleanup at Golden Bay. This hands-on activity, kayaking along the coastline and collecting litter, not only highlighted Malta’s environmental initiatives but also offered a truly memorable team-building opportunity. Louise noted how impactful such an activity could be for corporate groups looking for engaging, purpose-driven experiences.
Lunch at Kora Beach Club in the DoubleTree Hotel was a private, VIP-style experience. Louise raved about the cocktails (including local cactus liquor) and the exquisite tapas and sushi. The club offers an exceptional setting for events that step away from the traditional conference day, combining luxury and privacy with breathtaking sea views.
The day concluded with a walking tour of Mdina – The Silent City, followed by a private dinner at Palazzo DePiro, a historic museum venue with terraces overlooking Malta. Louise described the dinner as “an unforgettable experience,” enhanced by a private musician and even a lunar eclipse during the evening.
Louise’s final day included a guided tour of Valetta and a visit to Valetta Conference Centre, showcasing the city’s excellent options for corporate events. Lunch at One80 offered more incredible cuisine, followed by a harbour cruise across the marina - a perfect way to conclude the trip.
Reflecting on the FAM, Louise shared:
“Malta holds a special place in my heart, and experiencing it through a professional lens has only deepened my admiration. It’s accessible, budget-friendly, sun-soaked, and brimming with cultural richness. I feel proud to be a destination champion for Malta and look forward to introducing our clients to everything this island has to offer.”
This recent FAM trip reinforced everything we highlighted in our original Malta blog while providing fresh, tangible insights for 2025:
Malta continues to be a top destination for corporate events, offering a blend of history, culture, and bespoke experiences. Louise’s first-hand experience on this FAM trip ensures Trinity Event Solutions remains at the forefront of destination knowledge, ready to craft unforgettable events for clients.
